COMMERCE, California – Middleweights Eric Priest and Tyler Howard both made weight here Wednesday, ahead of their clash headlining “Golden Boy Fight Night” on Thursday at Commerce Casino.
Priest, 26, tipped the scales at 164.2lbs, while Howard, 33, came in at 163.6lbs, for the catchweight bout.
Priest,14-0 (9 KOs), who trains at Brickhouse Boxing in Los Angeles, fought twice in 2024, winning both fights by unanimous decision. This marks Priest’s first time headlining a card since he signed with Golden Boy Promotions.
Howard, 20-2 (11 KOs), of Houston, last fought in November, dropping a unanimous decision to Troy Isley.
The 10-round main event will be broadcast on DAZN and Golden Boy Boxing’s YouTube page.
In the co-feature, Jordan Panthen, of Honolulu, Hawaii, came in at 159.0lbs for his Golden Boy Promotions debut. The 28-year-old Panthen will face DeAundre Pettus, 30, from Columbia, South Carolina, who weighed in at 161.0lbs.
Panthen, 10-0 (9 KOs), who was noticeably vocal at the weigh-in, enters Thursday’s event on a four-fight knockout streak.
Pettus, 12-3 (7 KOs), is coming off a loss to Austin Deanda in November but has never been stopped as a professional.
