Chris Eubank Jr has been issued a £100,000 fine for his misconduct at the Conor Benn press conference.

Chris Eubank Jr’s public stunt of slapping Conor Benn with an egg at their opening press conference may have been personally gratifying for him, but it looks like it will end up costing him, as reported by Sky Sports. Following a review of the incident the British Boxing Board of Control issued a statement regarding Eubank’s misconduct that will cost him £100,000.

“Following a hearing before the stewards of the British Boxing Board of Control, Chris Eubank Jr was found to be in breach of regulation 25 (misconduct) for his conduct at the press conference in Manchester for the Chris Eubank Jr v Conor Benn contest on 26th April 2025. As such, the stewards of the board fined Chris Eubank Jr the sum of £100,000.”

Eubank would post on social media that the fine was ‘worth every penny’ but his Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom would say the fine was extremely excessive and out of proportion with what actually occurred, indicating that Eubank would file an appeal.

All that aside, Eubank and Benn are set for an April 26 fight at the middleweight limit in what was originally slated as the next generation of their father’s rivalry, but has since turned into a genuine bad blood match.

At this point all indications suggest this fight will end up being a great commercial success in the UK, even if hardcore boxing fans are far less enthused about the matchup due to the obvious size difference and lack of significance in the grand scheme of things.
