Euro News: Deadline set for IBF title bout between Willam Scull and Vladimir Shishkin

The IBF has set August 27 as the deadline for their vacant super middleweight title contest between William Scull (22-0) and Vladimir Shishkin (16-0) to be finalized. 

Scull, promoted by Agon Sports in Germany, reached the number 1 position in the IBF ratings two years ago, after beating Evgeny Shvedenko and has waited for his chance since then.

The previous IBF holder, Canelo Alvarez, failed to agree to meet Scull and thus the title became vacant.

Former IBF feather champion and WBC title challenger Sarah Mahfoud (14-2) headlines the Danish Fight Night promotion at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 12. No opponent has been announced.

Mahfoud is ranked number 1 by the WBC, 2 by WBO and 6 by the IBF.

Former WBC super welter champ Patricia Berghult (16-1) returns to action after 18 months on September 7 in Katrineholm (Sweden). She returns to super lightweight where she started her professional career in 2015.

The opponent is Lithuanian veteran Vaida Masiokaite (10-24-5) and the fight is scheduled for six-twos.

Universum Boxing Night 13, promoted by Universum Box Promotion, goes ahead on September 7 at the Motorworld in Cologne (Germany). Ali Kiydin (16-4 and with three straight losses) gets another chance and has now dropped down to bridgerweight and will take on Italian Davide Brito (5-0) in a WBC International Silver title fight.

French heavyweight star Mourad “White Wolf” Aliev (11-0) looks likely to get another win under his belt when he is in against Venezuelan Jose Luis Marin Garcia (15-7). 

WBC International super welter champ Ermal Hadribeaj (18-0-1) defends the title against Younes Zarraa (11-0).
