Another former IBF middleweight champion, Vincenzo Gualtieri, was scored a 116-113, 116-113 and 115-114 victor over his fellow German Alexander Pavlov. Gualtieri, 24-1-1 (8 KOs), and Pavlov, 22-5 (16 KOs) were fighting at middleweight.
At Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena in Malaga, Spain, the Spaniard Samuel Molina, 32-3 (13 KOs), defended his European welterweight title against Sandy Messaoud, 20-8 (1 KO), of France via scores of 116-112, 116-112 and 115-113.
