Promoter Frank Warren believes his man Hamzah Sheeraz will become world champion today in Saudi Arabia.

Sheeraz, 21-0 (17 KOs), will face WBC middleweight belt-holder Carlos Adames as part of Riyadh Season’s “The Last Crescendo” event. Sheeraz has staked his claim as one of the best middleweights on the planet with his recent victories. The 6ft 3ins middleweight is on a streak of 15 straight knockout victories, including stoppage wins over Ammo Williams, Tyler Denny and Liam Williams.

Sheeraz, however, has a tough test in front of him if he is to become world champion. Adames, 24-1 (18 KOs), represents a sizeable step up and holds wins over the likes of Sergiy Derevyanchenko, Julian Williams and Terrell Guasha.

Warren, who has promoted Sheeraz for his entire professional career, understands the hard task at hand for his fighter.

“Well, he’s done everything that’s been asked of him, Hamzah [Sheeraz],” Warren told BoxingScene. “When you look at the sort of amateur background he comes from, to what he’s done, he’s been phenomenal, but he’s in with a very, very good fighter, who’s not being underestimated in any way. It is the toughest fight for him, it is a tough fight, I believe in him and I believe he can come through it, but it is a tough, tough, and one more tough fight.

“I’m confident [he can win] if he can maintain his composure in the fight and use the abilities and the talent he’s got. I do think he can come through, but he’s got to maintain it, because the guy he’s in with right now, he’s no slouch.”
