Frank Warren believes that Liverpool’s Nick Ball, the WBA featherweight champion, would test Japanese superstar Naoya Inoue if they were to meet.

Inoue is the undisputed champion at super bantamweight, but Ball has been ocnvincing in his showings against Rey Vargas, Raymond Ford, and Ronny Rios.

“I love Nick Ball,” Warren told BoxingScene. You know that. He’s a magnificent fighter. He’s brilliant at what he’s done, the way he’s come through, showing the world what he’s about.

“He’s just been fabulous at what he’s done, how he’s taken advantage of the opportunities that he’s had and showing the world what he’s all about. The fight with him and Inoue, and Inoue coming up in weight, if that happens in December, I would love it to happen. They’ve all got to keep winning, obviously, but I would love that fight.”

Ball is riding high and the 27-year-old from Liverpool is 21-0-1 (12 KOs).

Inoue, 29-0 (26 KOs), is one of the best fighters in the world.

“I’ve got to tell you something,” Warren told BoxingScene. “He will give Inoue a lot of problems – a lot of problems. I want to make it, but I wouldn’t if I didn’t feel he could win it.”
