WBA bridgerweight champion Muslim Gadzimagomedov (6-0) outscored South African veteran Thabiso Mchunu (23-8 and pictured) last night (January 31) in Moscow in the headliner of an IBA Champions Night.

Gadzimagomedov won the 10-rounder by scores of 100-90 twice and 100-91. It was not announced if it was a defense of the WBA title or not, but judging by the distance it was a non-title fight.

Gadzimagomedov had been promised a car as a present by IBA president Umar Kremlev if he could finish Mchunu inside five rounds, but that wasn’t to be.

Gadzimagomedov is now heading for a training camp in the Elbrus Mountains as he prepares to participate in the IBA World Championships (where purses are so high, most pro boxers can only dream about it).

In the chief support, heavyweight  Artem Suslenkov (12-0) won a close, majority decision over Belgian Big Jack Mulowayi (15-4-1) and claimed the IBF European title. After 10 rounds, it was scored 96-94, 97-93 and 95-95.
