Gervonta Davis showed his scorn for his working-class fans by lashing a resume critic on social media, labeling him a “Loser” because he has a boss who tells him what to do.
By choosing to deflect the criticism rather than address it, Tank avoids the bitter truth. He wasted the best years of his career fighting low-level opposition and his earning potential. Tank doesn’t want to be seen as a protected fighter, but it’s there to be seen by everyone. He can’t hide. The resume critic points out the truth, and Tank is unable to confront it head-on to admit that he’s been shielded by his management from day one.
The person on social media had merely told the unbeaten WBA lightweight champion Tank that he’s turning 30 soon and he has a resume of a child. Rather than Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) agreeing with the person and striving to do better in the future, he insulted him.
Tank’s choice to belittle his resume critic shows that he’s insecure about his career and realizes that he’s fought a poor position to build his 30-0 resume. Ideally, Tank should have agreed with the person and explained why he had not faced better opposition during his 11-year career.
What Tank shows with his criticism is lack of maturity to handle the criticism. Unable to accept the reality, Tank lashes out in a child-like way, showing that he’s emotionally incapable of processing what the person said and responding without the need to attack.
Gervonta Davis: “Now, let’s talk about how you finish school and all that for you to work for someone, and now they dictate when you wake up and go to sleep. LOL! I’ll pick my life over your life any day. Loser.”
Gervonta Tank Davis @Gervontaa will turn 30 in about two weeks and the mf has the resume of a child.
