14-0 New Yorker Arnold Gonzalez will be eager to excite in a 10 round spectacle against Esneiker Correa with the WBA Fedecentro Welterweight title up for grabs. The All Star Boxing Promotions show is set to be broadcast on ESPN Knock-Out.
Gonzalez, who splits his time evenly between the United States and Ecuador, enters this bout off the back of a six round decision victory in Madison Square Garden on the Foster vs Nova Top Rank Promotions card.
Having spent his five year long career in two countries, Gonzalez has collected valuable experience that will serve him well as he collides with Venezuelan youngster Esneiker Correa.
Currently 15-4-1 and hoping to turn his luck around, Correa comes off two losses; one up at super welterweight and one at welterweight. Given this, it comes as no surprise that people view the unbeaten Gonzalez as the favourite, although Correa will be working hard to upset those odds.
The co-feature of the night comes by way of 7-0 Niagara Falls-native Mikiah Kreps, who looks to add former IBO Women’s World Bantamweight champion Meslissa Oddessa Parker (6-2) to her resume.
The Brooklyn-born Parker, although coming off two decision losses, holds significant amateur pedigree and will be looking to redeem herself with a win within this eight round bout, whilst Kreps looks to impress her local fanbase with a significant win that will bolster her standing.
And so, May 10th promises to bring yet another boxing event to Niagara Falls, one of many in recent memory.
