Teofimo Lopez says Keyshawn Davis isn’t in a good mental head space and urges fans to send him their prayers.

Saturday night’s ESPN card wasn’t exactly a huge event, but it ended up drawing a lot of attention for Keyshawn Davis’ actions following the loss of his brother to Nahir Albright. Davis would allegedly storm into Albright’s locker room afterwards and physically confront him in an awful show of sportsmanship.

Now Teofimo Lopez has chimed in to share his thoughts on the situation, urging the public to send well wishes to Davis who he believes to be in an unfortunate state of mind.

“Hey guys, I think it’s really important for us to think about Keyshawn Davis and his situation,” Lopez said. “I know personally that he’s going through it mentally and how I know this is because I was there, I’ve been there. Only difference is that we never reacted the certain kind of way that he has.

“Other than that though, I think we should all send prayers to him, to his family, to his newborn child as well. I think he’s young, still trying to figure out himself in the game and a lot of frustration comes with that. The media is not easy, I think anybody in here knows that it’s not easy. But wishing the best for Keyshawn Davis. God willing he finds his peace and his place at heart in the sport of boxing and understand boxing — no one’s bigger than the sport my man. No one, not even myself, brother.

“And I just wish the best to you, your family, to your mother mainly — I know she’s hurting right now — sending prayers to your mother, and sending you and DB3 the best, guys. Keep it up in the sense of positivity, forget about the negativity.

“And to Nahir, feel better man and whatever you guys plan on doing on that case I think it’s a good move on whatever you guys decided to do with your team. Things like this are unacceptable.”
