Lawrence Okolie expects Lukasz Rozanski to be outclassed despite his fighting spirit.
This evening Lawrence Okolie will take on Lukasz Rozanski in Rzesow, Poland for the WBC bridgerweight title. And while he’s headed into the backyard of his opponent, he tells Sky Sports that he fully intends on blocking out all the noise from the crowd and taking care of business the way he knows how.
“I’m expecting it to be very hostile but I’ll just blank it out,” Okolie said. “If anything, this particular fight is going to fuel me, especially the way I feel like I need to and want to fight.”
Rozanski, who has won 14 of his 15 fights by knockout, is expected to come guns blazing into this bout (especially in front of his hometown fans) but Okolie says he would expect nothing less.
“I know what he’s going to come with, we’ve seen it 15 times, he goes all out, I’ll show him he’s in there with a different animal. I’m looking forward to the boos and getting in there and getting it done vicious.”
Okolie is most recently coming off majority decision loss to Chris Billam-Smith last year and strongly believes that Rozanski hasn’t faced someone of his ability. In fact, Okolie continues by saying he believes previously making the cruiserweight limit sapped him of his power, and thus expects to showcase much more of it in this brigerweight fight.
Whether or not Okolie will be able to live up to his words, we’ll find out soon enough.
