Conor Benn says beyond the marketing he truly despises Chris Eubank Jr.

We’re now just a few days away from the British grudge match between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, and while speaking to Sky Sports Benn makes it clear that his feud with Eubank is more than just simple marketing of a second generation showdown.

“We’re focused on the future. We’re focused on finishing what we started,” Benn told Sky Sports. “I hate what he stands for. I hate who he is as a man, what he’s chasing. Just him as a man personally for reasons that aren’t public, personal reasons, between me and Chris that he’s fully aware of as to why I really dislike him.”

Benn didn’t want appear to want to specifically disclose the personal reasons for his rift with Eubank Jr, but ultimately the two will get a chance to settle it in the ring this Saturday when they meet in a 160 lb prize fight.

Looking towards that fight Benn says Eubank Jr will effectively be forced to retire after he loses, and the fact that Eubank Jr preferred a fight against a natural welterweight rather than pursue a world title at his own weight class is telling. As for his own plans, Benn says after this fight he will drop back down to welterweight in his own pursuit of a world title.
