Daniel Dubois says he will return in the summer.
Daniel Dubois says he’ll return to action in the summer, as the IBF heavyweight titleholder spoke today in Manchester during Queensberry Promotion’s DAZN broadcast.
“I can’t wait to get back in there. They keep saying I ducked Parker but now I just want to deck someone,” he said. “It’s exciting times. I’m on a journey now, we’ve reached this point, and I’m so glad.”
Dubois confirmed that his return will be a “summer date,” and smiled when asked if it might be a fight at Wembley Stadium.
Dubois (22-2, 21 KO) was meant to face Joseph Parker in a title defense on February 22 in Riyadh, but pulled out late due to illness. Parker instead knocked out Martin Bakole in the second round.
Dubois is now a potential opponent for Oleksandr Usyk, which would be a rematch and an attempt to re-unify the heavyweight division into undisputed status, as Usyk gave up the IBF belt last year to face Tyson Fury in a rematch.
Dubois last fought on September 21, knocking out Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium, and also defeated Filip Hrgovic in 2024. He’s won three straight following a stoppage loss with controversy against Usyk in 2023.
