Fabio Wardley says he’s looking to prove a point in rematch with Frazer Clarke.
This weekend’s undisputed light heavyweight title fight between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol will be supported by a heavyweight rematch between Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke, who battled to a grueling draw back in March. Wardley, who takes confidence from having dropped Clarke in that fight, tells Sky Sports that he’ll do so again in the rematch but will make sure that Clarke can’t escape this time around.
“On the 12th, the end of the fight will be a full stop. There’s no lessons to teach him. No place to put him in. I just want to take his head of his shoulders, that’s all. And prove my point.”
Wardley would emphasize the fact that he believes Clarke was saved by the bell in their first fight — something that Clarke denies — and then say he didn’t hesitate one second to accept this rematch, knowing it was an opportunity to prove himself the better man.
So in order to make it apparent that he’s superior to Clarke, Wardley will enter this fight willing to duke it out once more, only adding that Clarke won’t withstand the added pressure he’ll apply as he’s always looking to make a fan-friendly fight.
