Eddie Hearn believes Tyson Fury will get bored in retirement and come back to fight.

Fresh off of the recent retirement announcement from Tyson Fury, while Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn had designs on clash between Fury and Anthony Joshua, Hearn speaks to iFL TV about his reaction to the news and more. Check out some excerpts of what Hearn had to say below.

Hearn on Tyson Fury’s retirement announcement

“I saw that coming. I think if you ever want to come back and get the max you’ve got to retire first, haven’t you? Someone’s got to bring you out of retirement. So listen, if that’s the last we see of Tyson Fury, good luck to him. I doubt it, personally, but whatever he chooses to do, much respect to him.

“I think he’ll want to fight again. I think he’ll get bored, I think he’ll know that the British public want to see the AJ fight, and my personal belief is we’ll see him in the ring again. If not, good luck to the man.”

On whether we’re close to an official announcement for Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn

“I think there could be an announcement this week. The deal is not done yet but obviously it’s a fight that is gathering momentum, I’m speaking to [Ben] Shalom 25 times a day — not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. But obviously [Alalshikh] is involved, you saw him name the fight in the fights that he wants to see, he hasn’t failed yet.”

On if he thinks Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford will happen

“I mean, the fact that Canelo made the trip [to the UK] is very encouraging. And the fact that Crawford is here is very encouraging. When it happens, where it happens, I don’t really know, but I don’t see a lot of options for Canelo Alvarez if I’m honest. I think if and when Dmitry Bivol becomes undisputed, maybe he wants to take on the challenge of the rematch, but other than that I don’t see a lot of big money options for him at the moment.”
