Bob Arum says there aren’t many big viable fight out there for Anthony Joshua at this point, but suggests he might want to line up a fight with Deontay Wilder.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum talks to Fight Hub TV about his thoughts on the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight, a potential rematch between the two, as well as Shakur Stevenson signing with Matchroom. Check out some excerpts of what Arum had to say below.

Arum on his reaction to Joshua vs Dubois

“Well, it was what heavyweight fights used to be; two guys go out, slug each other, and one guy knocks the other one out. I mean, that’s exciting.”

On if he thinks Joshua should take the rematch with Dubois

“There’s no rematch. That’s Eddie Hearn’s bullshit. There was no rematch clause, Dubois signed a two fight deal with the Saudis and I think really that the best fight for Dubois is to fight the winner of Fury and Usyk, and that’s what he’ll do.”

On if Joshua would perform any better in a rematch

“No, you don’t have an off night getting the shit kicked out of you that way. I just think AJ has been through a lot of wars and I think it’s over for him and as well over for Wilder. Maybe they can fight each other, that’d be a good fight.”

On Hearn signing Shakur Stevenson

“Well, you know, he used the Saudi money to sign Shakur and Shukur’s a great fighter, really a tremendous talent and I like him very much, and we made a big offer to him which he turned down for whatever reason. So I just wish him the best of luck.”

On what’s next for Teofimo Lopez

“We’ve been talking with him and so forth and he wanted to take some time out, he had some personal issues, but want to get him back in the ring right after the first of the year.”
