Osleys Iglesias and Petro Ivanov headline tonight on ESPN+
Osleys Iglesias risks his undefeated record (and the IBO super middleweight title!) against Petro Ivanov tonight in the main event of an ESPN+ showcase from Montreal.
Broadcast coverage of the undercard will start at 7 pm ET on ESPN+, and Bad Left Hook will have live updates starting a little later in the evening.
Iglesias (12-0, 11 KO) fights for the fourth time in 2024, an active year where he’s already knocked out respectable gatekeepers and prospect checkers Sena Agbeko, Evgeny Shvedenko, and Marcelo Coceres in a combined nine minutes and 11 seconds. The 26 year old Cuban looks to have a rare and thrilling blend of savage power and exceptional skill, with an exciting and busy style that’s quickly turned him into a must-watch fighter for dedicated boxing fans.
He’ll face Petro Ivanov (18-0-2, 13 KO), a relative unknown who makes his North American debut. Ivanov is a massive underdog, with nothing in his pro history to suggest he’ll fare any better than the more proven foes Iglesias regularly disposes of with speed and brutality. But, the only two draws on Ivanov’s record came in 2018 and 2016, against fellow Ukrainians in fights held at Ukrainian Olympic training facilities and sports academies, so there’s no clear knock against him, and no telling what he could be capable of in his first major pro opportunity.
Not a lot to say for the undercard, unless you happen to be a devoted Steven “Bang Bang” Butler fan or thoroughly schooled on the Eye of the Tiger prospect stable. But, you can follow along in the comments section below, where live coverage will pick up once the main event draws near.
