George Kambosos says he’ll be bringing the fight to Jake Wyllie this weekend.

George Kambosos spent a few minutes talking to Fight Hype about this weekend’s fight against replacement opponent Jake Wyllie in Sydney, Australia. Kambosos explains why Wyllie was a suitable substitute for Duad Yordan and giving Wyllie a taste of the big time before sending him back on his way.

Kambosos on late replacement Jake Wyllie

“I had such a big amateur career where you don’t know who you’re fighting until the day of the fight, so nothing changes. We looked at Jake Wyllie, we liked that he’s a respectful, humble young kind, he’s got a nice record (16-1, 15 KOs), and the same style as Duad Yordan.

“When we looked at him and we compared to who we been sparring and who we were fighting, it was a no-brainer. This kid deserves this opportunity and I’m looking forward to handling business.”

On what kind of fight he expects Wyllie to present

“He can do what he wants. He can come at me, we’re fully prepared. But at 140, how strong I am, how good I am with the weight, I’ll be coming at him. I’m very focused and I got a lot on the line too. I got a lot dangling so I will not give this kid a sniff. This is his sniff now, getting a little bit of exposure, being around the big lights. No disrespect but that’s where it ends.”
