Tyson Fury says he believes he beat Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch.

Tyson Fury feels he got the short end of the stick in his rematch loss to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday, where Usyk retained the WBC, WBA, and WBO heavyweight titles with a unanimous 116-112 victory in Riyadh.

It was a terrific fight again between Usyk (23-0, 14 KO) and Fury (34-2-1, 24 KO), with both looking in top form.

What Tyson Fury said after the loss to Usyk

“I was quite confident (that I was ahead). I thought I won that fight again. I thought I’ve won both fights, but then again, I’ve gone home with two losses on me record now, so there’s not much I can do about it. I can just fight me heart out and do the best I can. But again, I’ll always believe until the day I die I’ve won that fight.”

“I was on the front foot all night, landing body and head. Listen, sometimes it’s hard to score.”

“I feel a lot of people (had me winning 7-5). Frank [Warren, Fury’s promoter] had me three or four rounds up, a lot of people had me at least two. I just don’t know. It is what it is. I’m not going to cry over spilled milk. I know boxing, been in it all me life. You can’t change no decisions. But I’ll just always feel a little bit hard done by — not a little bit, a lot.”

“When you don’t get the knockout, this is what happens. You can’t guarantee a win.”

“We move on. We go home into a New Year. Whatever happens, we’ll see.”

“I think (Usyk) got a little Christmas gift from them judges.”

“I felt I won both fights. I don’t know what I’ve got wrong, and I know I’ve got to knock him out, but it’s boxing and it happens. There’s no doubt in my mind that I’ve won the fight. … What can you do? You get paid, you get laid, that’s it. You go home.”

On whether we’ll see him fight again: “You might do, you might not do.”

On what he’s taken from the Usyk fights: “On the record, fuck all. Two losses. So not a lot.”
