A rubber match between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev would be welcomed by boxing fans.
Dmitry Bivol won a majority decision over Artur Beterbiev to become the new undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, avenging his loss to Beterbiev from last year.
The result means that Bivol (24-1, 12 KO) has handed Beterbiev (21-1, 20 KO) his first defeat, as Beterbiev did to Bivol in 2024.
It was a fantastic, high-level fight once again, perhaps even better this time around than the first, and it’s immediately expected that we’ll likely see a rubber match between the two before 2025 is over, to fully settle the score between the two best light heavyweights of a generation.
