Liam Smith was forced to withdraw from this weekend’s fight for medical reasons.

Following Liam Smith’s unexpected withdrawal from this weekend’s fight against Josh Kelly on the Daniel Dubois vs Anthony Joshua undercard this Saturday, Turki Alalshikh formally announced today that Ishmael Davis (13-0, 6 KOs) will come in on short notice to face Kelly on his Riyadh Season event.

Davis, a Leeds native, is now primed for the biggest opportunity of his career at age 29, on a platform that he’s yet to experience. Davis is expressing his confidence on social media however, saying he’s going to use this opportunity to shock the world.

This also proves to be good news for Josh Kelly, who might’ve otherwise been left without a dance partner and a payday considering Smith’s late withdrawal.

BLH will be here this weekend with full live coverage of the main card that will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, so join us for all of the action!
