Oleksandr Usyk isn’t buying into Tyson Fury’s claims of having an easy time in their May fight.

Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled to rematch Tyson Fury on December 21 in Riyadh after taking a split decision win over him to become undisputed heavyweight champion back in May, and Fury has sort of been downplaying Usyk’s performance by publicly stating that he only thinks he lost the fight because he was having too much fun in there, messing about.

With Sky Sports speaking to Usyk about Fury’s position, he sort of makes light of that whole notion while insisting that he’ll be taking the rematch just as seriously as the first one.

“For me, my fight will be hard because Tyson Fury is a big man, a good boxer, with a good boxing IQ.

“But if Tyson says for him it will be easy, ok, no problem. I see for Tyson Fury, I see for the eyes of Tyson Fury, it’s not easy. It will be hard, very, very hard.”

It doesn’t seem that most observers are putting much stock in Fury’s comments of having too easy a time in the first meeting but if that is in fact the case, Usyk reassures Fury that he has nothing to fear in their upcoming fight while delivering an ominous message of ‘I will not leave you alone.’

Usyk would continue on by likening Fury to a yeti, indicating that he’s a big and strong opponent who did force him to deal some physical ailments as a result of a long and hard fight with him the first time around, but says he did not in fact suffer a broken jaw as Fury had proclaimed. In the meanwhile, Usyk will be gearing up for the December rematch.
