Frank Warren expects Jarrell Miller to be a tough opponent for Fabio Wardley.

Queensberry promoter Frank Warren talks to iFL TV about a number of topics including his upcoming heavyweight fight between Fabio Wardley and Jarrell Miller, the state of Joe Joyce’s career, where things stand for a potential Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois rematch, and more. Check out some of what Warren had to say below.

Warren on how big of a step up in competition Jarrell Miller is from Wardley’s previous opponents

“It’s a big jump for him. It’s a big jump, he’s a tough guy. He can take a shot. I mean, when you think about the fight he had with Daniel — he’s probably the biggest puncher out there — he took some shots right until the 12th round [editor’s note: that was actually a 10-round fight]. That was a tough fight, he’s a tough guy. He walked forward as I said and his last fight against Ruiz, who beat AJ, I thought he won that fight. It was a draw but I thought he won it.”

On where Joy Joyce goes from here after this latest loss

“Joe needs to go nowhere at the moment. He just needs to take time out and with a cool, calm head watch the fight back, speak to his team, his family. I’m going to speak to him and then he’ll make a decision as to what he does. One thing’s for sure, if he carries on he’s going to have a tough fights; he will have ‘em. And that’s if the Board of Control — the Board of Control are going to keep an eye on the whole thing.

“Joe’s been a magnificent servant for boxing, he’s done brilliant as an amateur but he’s been in some great fights as a pro. I just want the best for him and I want him to be able to live his life and live his life with his full faculties.”

On if he’s confident in an undisputed fight between Dubois and Usyk

“I’m confident [Dubois’] going to be fighting this year. I’d love [Usyk] to be one of the fights. Anything is possible, anything. We got to keep working away and try to deliver. Look, heavyweight division’s on fire. Fights are happening, we’ve got a lot of heavyweights with us, and we’re making fights happen and that fight would be an brilliant fight to make.”

On why he’s hoping to see Benn knockout Eubank Jr

“Because I think Eubank’s a prick.”
