Jacob Bank training with Joey Gamache for March 1 fight in Denmark

Renowned trainer and former world champ Joey Gamache is back in Denmark, this time to train Jacob Bank, 15-0 (8 KOs).

The 24-year-old Bank is in training for a defense of his WBO Global super middleweight belt on March 1 in Vejen, Denmark against unbeaten Spaniard Damian Biacho, 17-0 (4 KOs).

The New York-based Gamache, a former WBA junior lightweight and lightweight champion, spent years in Denmark during Team Sauerland’s Nordic Fight Night days training the likes of Patrick and Micki Nielsen, Kai Robin Havnaa, Anthony Yigit, Klara Svensson and especially heavyweight Otto Wallin, who later moved to New York to continue to be trained by Gamache.

Bank scored some impressive wins in 2023 and 2024. By 2025 it was as if his development had slowed down and part of the problem was that it appeared to be that he was training himself.
