Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson has reportedly been rescheduled for November 15th following the soon-to-be 58-year-old Tyson’s ulcer flare-up, which postponed their July 20th fight.

The rescheduled fight between the 27-year-old YouTuber Jake Paul and former unified heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will take place on November 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Concerns Over Tyson’s Health at 58

It will be interesting to see if Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) can make it to the fight on November 15th without another physical breakdown. In hindsight, it was a wacky idea for Jake Paul to use Mike Tyson as an opponent to create interest in his fights, which often involve older fighters.

Tyson takes it to another level in terms of Jake fighting an ancient guy. Jake has fought 49-year-old Anderson Silva, 42-year-old Tyrone Woodley and 39-year-old Nate Diaz. Those are just a few examples of the old timers Jake Paul has been fighting.

Last month, on May 26, Tyson suffered an ulcer flareup while on a plane. It was later revealed that his doctor advised that his fight with Jake be postponed.

Criticism and Concerns over the Fight

“He’s the most famous living boxer, and you wonder why there was a need to have a fight like this to earn money,” said boxing analyst Gareth A. Davies to talkSport Boxing, talking about why former unified heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is taking this fight against the YouTuber Jake Paul.

“In your head, you want him to knock out the young upstart. You watch those short clips [of Tyson training], and they are six to ten-second clips of him training. He frequently reports getting injured in training. His body has gone up and down in the last 25 years.

“He’s a treasure in many ways. He’s one of the most transformational stories in the world. Let’s protect him and look after him, and make sure he doesn’t get hurt. Maybe this shouldn’t happen,” said Gareth.

“In Tyson’s last fight [19 years ago against Kevin McBride in 2005], he was awful then. He was a shell,” said Barry Jones about Mike Tyson. “What do you expect of him now against a young guy who’s new to the sport, but he’s still a young, big guy,” Barry said about 27-year-old Jake Paul.
