The Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson heavyweight clash will be an eight-round officially scheduled contest that will count in the record books in their fight in 14 days on November 15th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be shown live on Netflix.
The fight will have special rules to accommodate the age of the 58-year-old Mike Tyson, who hadn’t fought since 2005 when he surprisingly lost to journeyman Kevin McBride by a sixth-round stoppage. Tyson was 38 at the time.
Rules:
– Fight counts in record books
– Knockouts are allowed
– 8 2 minute rounds
– 14-ounce gloves
The Paul-Tyson fight will be eight two-minute rounds with 14-ounce gloves rather than the 10-oz gloves. Fights are normally three minutes long, but for obvious reasons, they’ve been shortened to two minutes for this contest.
Tyson hasn’t fought for almost 20 years and is taking this fight without a tune-up. Of course, his age is quite advanced for him to face a big puncher like the 27-year-old Paul. Knockouts will be allowed for this fight.
Undercard
Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano
Mario Barrios vs. Abel Ramos
Neeraj Goyat vs. Whindersson Nunes
Shadasia Green vs. Melinda Watpool
Lucas Bahdi vs. Corey Marksman
Bruce Carrington vs. Dana Coolwell
“Yeah, he’s looking really good. I’m a little bit crazy, and I’m a little bit scared. This is the toughest fight I’ve had to date against the most experienced opponent,” said Jake Paul to the Today channel, discussing his November 15th fight against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on Netflix.
“It’s at heavyweight. Tyson has been dropping people in sparring. He looks in the best shape and the strongest he’s ever been. That’s what his coaches are saying. So, I know on November 15th, it’s going to be a war, but I just plan on outboxing him and showing the world what I’m capable of. Coming alive in the moment and knocking out one of the best to ever do it.”
