A crossroads middleweight bout between former titleholders Jarrett Hurd and Jeison Rosario will headline Wednesday Night Fights on the ProBox TV app and on YouTube, taking place at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida. Both fighters made weight for the main event.
Hurd (25-3, 17 KOs), 33, weighed in at 162.4 pounds, while Rosario (24-4-1, 18 KOs) hit the contracted catchweight limit of 164 pounds.
Hurd is coming off a fourth-round stoppage of Tyi Edmonds in December in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This victory followed a February 2023 defeat to Jose Armando Resendiz, where he was stopped in the 10th round at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California. Hurd was trailing on all three judges’ scorecards and needed a knockout to win.
Rosario finds himself in a similar position. He last scored a second-round technical knockout win over Israel Valerio Nina in November in the Dominican Republic. This victory came after a fifth-round knockout loss to Brian Mendoza, which many felt might signal the end of his career. All of Rosario’s losses have come by knockout. For this camp, he has enlisted new coach Bob Santos in Las Vegas.
In the co-feature, “The Boxing Realtor” Michael Angeletti weighed in at 117.8 pounds, just below the bantamweight limit. His opponent, Geraldo Valdez, (15-1, 11 KOs), came in at 117 pounds.
