WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo was reportedly arrested on Tuesday in Texas for fleeing police, driving while intoxicated, and property damage.
According to the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old Jermall (33-0, 22 KOs) was released on a $9,500 surety bond on Tuesday. Charlo looked pretty messed up in the mugshot with his eyes looking glazed.
Charges Against Jermall Charlo
- Driving while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.15 (nearly twice the Texas legal limit of 0.08)
- Fleeing police officer imminent danger SBI (a high-severity offense)
- Property damage exceeding or equal to $200 related to the vehicle collision
Details of the Incident
Jermall was in a car accident on Tuesday at 6:41 p.m., driving his expensive red Lamborghini Urus. He reportedly then took off, fleeing the scene after having words with the other driver.
When the police tried to pull Jermall’s car over, he failed to stop. They finally stopped his vehicle and were arrested. Later, he was given a sobriety test while under arrest and his blood alcohol reading was 0.15, which was above the lTexas limit of 0.08.

Jermall couldn’t have picked a worse time to get in trouble because he would have had a good chance of getting the fight against the undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo otherwise. With the Mexican star unwilling to take on any of the talented fighters at 168, it leaves Jermall and Berlanga as the only two
