Despite speculation to the contrary, it looks like the fight between WBA 140lbs champion Jose Valenzuela and Gary Antuanne Russell is staying on March 1.
Several reports had indicated that it could be brought forward to join a PBC on Prime not pay-per-view card in February that is topped by Elijah Garcia-Terrell Gausha.
That bill was originally headed to Florida but could now be in Los Angeles or, depending on fires, Minnesota.
Southpaw Valenzuela, 14-2 (9 KOs), won the title with a split decision victory over Isaac Cruz last August. Russell, 17-1 (17 KOs), lost to Albert Puello in June.
The March 1 bill, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, is topped by Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach.
A source told BoxingScene: “Looks Rayo-Gary Antuanne will remain on Tank card.”
