Josh Warrington looks as though he may be set to retire from boxing, having left his gloves on the canvas following his loss to Anthony Cacace today at Wembley Stadium.
Matchroom Boxing didn’t confirm and Warrington has not done so yet, but the symbolic gesture was pretty clear after the fight:

The 33-year-old “Leeds Warrior” dropped a unanimous decision to Cacace on scores of 117-111, 117-111, and 118-110, in his first fight at 130 lbs.
Warrington is now 1-4-1 in his last six fights, scoring just one victory this decade.
Warrington collected the British, Commonwealth, and European featherweight titles in 2013-14 before beating Lee Selby to win his first world featherweight title in 2018, which he successfully defended three times before an upset loss to Mauricio Lara in 2021.
Warrington won the IBF belt again in 2022, but lost it in his first defense against Luis Alberto Lopez nine months later that same year. He has since lost back-to-back fights to Leigh Wood and Cacace.
A popular fighter with a great, passionate fan base in his home city, Warrington really made the most of what was never a spectacular skill set or anything, and has had a fine career.
As Matchroom said, if this is the end, he has plenty to be proud of over a 15-year run in the pro rings.
