The undercard for this Saturday’s heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Derek Chisora features interesting matches between local fighters. The event will take place at the O2 Arena in London on July 27th. It’s believed that Joyce and Chisora have their careers on the line for this because neither guy can afford another loss if they want to remain headline attractions.

Heading into the main event, which is expected to be a 100% war between ‘The Juggernaut’ Joyce (16-2, 15 KOs) and Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs), the undercard will see unbeaten Dennis McCann (15-0-1, 8 KOs) facing Ionut Baluta (16-4-1, 3 KO) for the vacant European super bantamweight title.
Undefeated super featherweight Ryan Garner (15-0, 8 KOs) battles Archie Sharp (25-0, 9 KOs) in a fight between unbeaten fighters.
“I’m ready for Chisora and ready for action. We’re going to go punch each other in the face on Saturday night, and I can’t wait for that,” said Joe Joyce to Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions YouTube channel, talking about his fight against Derek Chisora on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.
In the headliner, 2016 Olympic silver medalist Joyce, 38, looks like he’s fed up with the critics he’s received since his two knockout defeats against Zhilei Zhang and his lackluster performance against Kash Ali last March.
Joyce looks like someone with a chip on his shoulder who wants to prove people wrong by making quick work of the 40-year-old veteran Chisora on Saturday night.
He almost has to obliterate Chisora for him to be taken seriously by boxing fans because he doesn’t belong in the ring against elite-level, top-of-the-tree contenders in the division. Joyce must defeat Chisora and make it look easy in a prime George Foreman-esque manner to receive any credit from fans.
“I’m going to have a great display of excellence in the ring against Chisora. He’s a great fighter, and we’re going to have a great fight,” said Joyce.
