George Kambosos fired back at Ryan Garcia on social media today in retaliation for him saying that he “sucks” after watching him get beaten by Vasily Lomachenko by an 11th-round knockout in their battle for the vacant IBF lightweight title last Saturday night in Perth, Australia.
Kambosos’ Response
Kambosos wasn’t about to let Ryan’s disrespectful remark go without saying something back in response.
The former IBF, WBA, WBO, and Ring lightweight champion Kambosos (21-3, 100 KOs), who suffered his third loss in his last four fights, scolded Ryan, telling him that he’s won more belts than he ever will without questionable assistance. Ryan has yet to win any titles.
Kambosos then took a shot at Ryan over his positive PED tests and coming in overweight for his fight against Devin Haney last April. Ryan was 3.2 lbs over the 140-lb limit for that fight and tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine, which is still being investigated.
‘Ferocious’ Kambosos said he wanted to fight Ryan on the street, which obviously won’t change anything. Ryan sees Kambosos as a poor fighter, and his recent 1-3 record in his last four fights reflects that view.
George Kambosos’ Fall from Grace
Many boxing fans view Kambosos as a one-hit wonder who milked his upset victory over Teofimo Lopez in 2021 for all it’s worth, making millions in two fights against Devin Haney, Maxi Hughes, and Lomachenko.
Before Kambosos’ match against Teofimo, he was just an average run-of-the-mill contender, who hadn’t beaten anyone notable, aside from the washed-up Mickey Bey and Lee Selby. That upset win for Kambosos over Teofimo led to him making boatload of money.
“Won more belts than you’ll ever win princess the clean way, 😘 cheating dog. I rather go out on my shield against the best and lose like a man than cheat with weight advantages and enhancements like you did. Let’s have a street fight, then f*** the ring!! Use all the 💉 you want,” said Kambosos Jr. on X, responding to Ryan Garcia’s comment about his lack of ability after his loss to Lomachenko last Saturday night.
Ryan obviously isn’t the only one who feels that Kambosos isn’t a good fighter. Many see him as a guy who got lucky, catching Teofimo when he was mentally disengaged for their fight three years ago and then making the most of that win to accumulate a fortune and become wealthy from his next four fights.
