George Kambosos Jr. blew his stack on social media, reacting to criticism about his homecoming to Sydney, Australia, on March 22nd.
The former three-belt lightweight champion Kambosos (21-3, 10 KOs) had announced to his 83 thousand followers on X that he’ll be heading to his hometown in Sydney in a “huge card’ on May 22nd.
The popular X poster, Ray Jackson, took a verbal shot at little ‘Emperor,’ letting him know that it would “be nice” if he won in front of his fans because the “last time they saw you, yo a** got beat for 24 rounds straight.”
Ray discusses Kambosos Jr’s back-to-back lopsided, humiliating 12-round unanimous decision losses to Devin Haney in 2022 in Melbourne, Australia. In response to Ray’s biting criticism, Kambosos talked about his family and his job as a forklift operator.
Jackson is right that it would be nice if Kambosos won for a change in front of his fans in Australia because Haney dominated him in consecutive fights the last time he was at home. If Kambosos keeps losing, he won’t have any Aussies wanting to see his fights. Kambosos Jr’s record is 1-3 in his last 4 fights since 2022. It should be 0-4 if you consider the Maxi Hughes fight a loss.
The last time Kambosos Jr. won a fight in Australia was nine years ago, when he defeated Brandon Ogilvie by a 12-round unanimous decision on December 2nd, 2016, in Sydney.
The former IBF, WBA, WBO, and Ring Magazine lightweight champion Kambosos Jr’s career has hit rock bottom in the last three years, losing twice to Haney, getting knocked out by Vasily Lomachenko, and winning a questionable 12-round majority decision against Maxi Hughes.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn recently signed Kambosos to a multi-fight contract in late 2024, and he’ll debut at 140 on March 22nd in Sydney. Hearn hasn’t said what he plans on doing with Kambosos, but it’s likely he’s angling him toward a title shot against Teofimo Lopez in a rematch.
In Kambosos’ first fight against Haney at Marvel Stadium, they fought in front of a massive crowd of 41,129. For the Haney-Kambosos Jr. rematch on October 16th, 2022, at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, the crowd was much smaller, with only 13,128. This suggests that Kambosos’ appeal in Australia dropped after his first loss to Haney.
Not as bad as your mother got beat last night working her corner job and not as bad as your going to get beat in the ass when they throw them keys away in prison you fat ugly pedo. The forklift association should fire your fat ass they have had to make custom forklifts with… pic.twitter.com/1O4zxDM3O1
