Lightweight Karlos Balderas and flyweight Daniel “Chucky” Barrera have been added to the “Hollywood Fight Nights” event scheduled for Aug. 31 at Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California.
Balderas (14-2, 12 KOs), of nearby Santa Maria, California, will return against Dominican veteran William “El Gago” Encarnacion (20-6, 16 KOs) in a scheduled eight-rounder. After recently signing with 360 Promotions, Balderas will make his first appearance in Southern California since December 2019.
The well-traveled Encarnacion has faced numerous top contenders, including Abraham Nova, Adam Lopez, Tomoki Komeda and Albert Bell.
The all-action Barrera (7-0-1, 4 KOs), of Riverside, California, will face title challenger Garen “Hellboy” Diagan (10-4, 5 KOs), of General Santos City, Philippines. The 22-year-old Barrera will be fighting for the fourth time at Chumash, where a huge crowd of his supporters is expected to be present for the scheduled eight-round bout. Most recently, Barrera won a dominant eight-round decision over contender Christian Robles on June 7.
Diagan returns to action following a loss to Oscar Collazo last August in a minimumweight title fight.
Headlining the 360 Promotions card is the return of junior welterweight “Sugar” Cain Sandoval (13-0, 11 KOs), of Sacramento, against Romero Duno (26-4, 20 KOs), of Miami, in a scheduled 10-rounder.
Additionally, light heavyweight southpaw Umar Dzambekov (8-0, 5 KOs), of Los Angeles, will return against Edward Jeramie Ortiz (13-1-2, 5 KOs), of San Antonio; middleweight and former Kazakh national amateur standout Sadriddin Akhmedov (13-0, 11 KOs), of Montreal, will face an opponent to be announced; and bantamweight Alexander “The Alley Cat” Gueche (5-0, 5 KOs), of Long Beach, California, will also meet a TBA opponent.
