Kevin Brown, John Bauza make 140-pound limit for Friday main event

Junior welterweights Kevin Brown and John Bauza both made weight on Thursday, ahead of their 10-round main event at the Caribe Royale Orlando set for Friday night.

Brown (5-0, 3 KOs), an undefeated 30-year-old Cuban boxer with a strong amateur background, weighed in at 139.8 pounds. Brown has been fast-tracked as a pro, fighting in 10-round bouts since his second professional fight. His debut was an eight-round contest.

Bauza (18-1, 8 KOs), originally from Puerto Rico but now fighting out of New Jersey, tipped the scales at 139.4 pounds. The 26-year-old former Top Rank signee suffered his first career loss in February 2023, a unanimous decision to Richardson Hitchins in which he was dropped twice. Bauza rebounded with a regional knockout win in March, but this fight represents a critical moment in his career.

Brown-Bauza, which will headline a Most Valuable Prospects card promoted by BoxLab Promotions, will stream live on DAZN.

In the co-feature, unbeaten Henri Cedeno (13-0, 10 KOs) of the Dominican Republic weighed in at 141.0 pounds. His opponent, Enriko Gogokhia (13-1-2, 8 KOs), originally from Georgia and now training in Southern California, came in slightly heavier at 142.0 pounds.
