French super middleweight Kevin Lele Sadjo has unsurprisingly relinquished the EBU title to go ahead with the IBF eliminator against Christian Mbilli.

Lele Sadjo was supposed to defend the championship against the mandatory challenger, Italian Ivan Zucco, who will now instead fight the highest-ranked contender for the vacant strap. That is likely to be another Frenchman, Gustave Tamba. He currently holds the EBU silver title and is booked to defend it January 25 against Spaniard Jose Luis Navarro Jnr.

If Tamba goes through with that fight remains to be seen – but for now it is still on.

WBA bridgerweight beltholder Muslim Gadzhimagomedov of Russian will fight South African veteran Thabiso Mchunu in a scheduled 10-rounder on January 31 in Moscow. This fight headlines an IBA Night of Champions event promoted by SOYUZ along with IBA and the Russian Federation.

French super welterweight champion Bakary Samake defends the WBC silver title on April 10 in Paris against South African Roarke Knapp.

Bakary, who keeps it in the family and is promoted by Samake Promotions, won the then vacant title by stopping Australian Wade Ryan November 23, also in Paris.
