Keyshawn Davis told his opponent Gustavo Lemos that there’s going to be blood everywhere and that his nose is going to be “sideways” by the end of their 10-round lightweight fight this Friday, November 8th, at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

Lemos (29-1, 19 KOs) is the best fighter Keyshawn (11-0, 7 KOs) has faced since his loss to Cuba’s Andy Cruz in the 2020 Olympics, and things could end badly for the American if he doesn’t raise his game from what he’s shown in his recent fights.

The Argentinian Lemos can punch, and he wants to ensure he doesn’t lose a controversial decision like in his last fight against Richardson Hitchins on April 6th. Keyshawn hand-picked Lemos, telling his Top Rank promoters that this was the guy he wanted rather than a lesser fighter.

We’ll see if Keyshawn made the right choice because Top Rank’s matchmakers didn’t want to want him to face this guy. They were offering him 38-year-old Nicholas Walters.

Losing to Lemos in front of his hometown fans in Norfolk will be a bitter pill for Keyshawn to swallow if he gets beaten, but it would be a lesson for him. Next time, he needs to go along with the wishes of the Top Rank matchmakers, who are the best in the business.

Keyshawn Davis: “It’s not going to be a beautiful fight.  It’s going to be blood everywhere. His nose might be a little lopsided, but I respect Gustavo. You’re an amazing fighter. I appreciate you taking the fight in my hometown, but I’m going to [mess] you up,” said Davis during today’s final press conference.

“He’s up for the challenge. I think he’s the perfect guy for this moment. I’m a dramatic fighter. I like doing the unexpected. Expect that Friday night.

Gustavo Lemos: “I don’t really see a difference. I have a strong opponent in front of me, and that’s what I’m going to do. I’ve always said he’s a good opponent, and I expect a good fight.”

Keyshawn: “It sounds like he knows what he’s up against. Gustavo, be ready for Friday because you already know. Tell him to look my way when he’s talking.”

Gustavo: “I respect all my opponents, good and bad. I want to wish him luck on Friday. Be careful.”

“Keyshawn: “I feel like I’m ready for any opponent at 135, whether it’s #1 or #8 or whatever. After this fight, when I get a spectacular win, I’m going for a world title. Lemos is just another opponent in front of me that I’m I’ve got to knock down. We’re going to be world champ by next year.”

Gustavo: “I came to work hard. I have nothing else to say, but it’s going to be a beautiful fight.”
