Heavyweight Kingsley Ibeh will face Scott Alexander on January 10 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, headlining a card that will also feature the pro debut of popular Tacoma-based amateur Dedrick Crocklem.
Ibeh, 14-2-1 (12 KOs), is on a nine-fight win streak, most recently scoring a first-round knockout of the previously undefeated Jack May last October at the Emerald Queen Casino. A native of Nigeria who lives in Phoenix, the 31-year-old Ibeh is a 6ft 4in, 290lbs former college and Canadian Football League football player, as well as a cousin of Ike Ibeabuchi.
Ibeh will fight in a scheduled 10-rounder at the EQC Event Center against Alexander, 17-6-2 (9 KOs), who most recently lost to Frank Sanchez on a corner stoppage in September after only a month before scoring a third-round knockout of Jaime Solorio.
Austin Brooks, 12-0-1 (5 KOs), a resident of San Diego, will take on junior lightweight Rosalindo Morales, 10-1 (2 KOs), in a 10-round co-feature.
Brooks, the WBA’s No. 15-rated junior lightweight, won a bronze medal at the 2014 USA National Championships.
Crocklem, a 20-year-old junior welterweight, will make his pro debut in a four-rounder against Haiti’s Nesly Trezile, 1-1. A decorated amateur, Crocklem earned gold medals at the 2022 USA National Championships and back-to-back top honors at the USA Youth Nationals in 2020 and 2021.
Junior lightweight Alexis De La Cerda Landin, 4-0 (3 KOs), of Federal Way, Washington, will square off against Nicaragua’s Nelson Guerreo, 2-0-1 (2 KOs), in a four-round match. De La Cerda Landin was a silver medalist at the 2022 National Golden Gloves Tournament,
Like Crocklem, featherweight Joel Hernandez is a local fighter (Renton, Washington) who will make his pro debut in this card, facing fellow first-timer Julio Lanzas Jnr in a four-round bout.
Also in four-rounders will be New Mexico welterweight Rolyn Nez, 4-0 (3 KOs), against Cruz Becerro Monteon, 1-0 (1 KO), and junior welterweight Quinn McKenna, 1-0-1, against Niguy Simms, 0-1, of Compton, California.
