Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis defends his IBF welterweight title tonight against replacement opponent David Avanesyan in the 12-round main event at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The event will be shown live on DAZN starting at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
Ennis (31-0, 20 KOs) had been initially scheduled to face #1 IBF mandatory challenger Cody Crowley, but he pulled out because of an eye problem.
Boxing News 24 will be giving live results below of the action on the card tonight.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had to work fast to dig up the 35-year-old Avanesyan after Cody Crowley’s eye problems caused him to be yanked from the card. Fortunately, Avanesyan (30-4-1, 18 KOs) could step in and take the fight.
Avanesyan has been on the shelf for two years, collecting dust since his sixth-round KO loss to WBO 147-lb champion Terence Crawford on December 10th, 2022, at the Chi Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
With Avanesyan’s inactivity, it’s difficult to know what kind of condition he’ll be in tonight for his fight against Boots. Ennis must look good against Avanesyan, but the fans will want the match to at least look competitive in the early going.
High Expectations for Attendance
Hearn expects a crowd of 14,000+ to attend tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia to watch Boots Ennis battle Avanesyan. That’s an excellent number, given the level of opponent Boots is fighting.
For this size of a crowd to attend this level of a fight, Hearn believes a much more significant number would be possible if Ennis were fighting one of the popular fighters.
Unfortunately, the welterweight division lacks notable guys, and the fans in Philadelphia would be excited about seeing Boots Ennis fight.
