Joe Joyce faces grizzled veteran Derek Chisora in the 12-round heavyweight headliner on ESPN+ from the O2 Arena in London. The event will be shown live on ESPN+ today in the U.S. starting at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT. In the UK, it will be shown on TNT Sports.
Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs) is coming off a long one-year layoff, and it’s difficult to know what he’ll look like inside the ring in this match. If his recent form is any indication, he won’t last long against Joyce (16-2, 15 KOs).
You can’t entirely rule out a victory for Chisora because he still possesses power, and Joyce’s punch resistance looked absolutely horrible in his two defeats in 2023.
Joyce snapped a two-fight losing string earlier this year with a victory over Kash Ali, but he did not look like his old self. The ‘Juggernaut’ Joyce’s two knockout defeats against Zhilei Zhang last year took something out of him, and he didn’t perform well against Kash.
On the Joyce-Chisora undercard are the following fights:
- Dennis McCann vs. Ionut Baluta: Battle for vacant European super bantamweight title
- Ryan Garner vs. Archie Sharp: Super featherweights
- Raven Chapman vs. Yohana Sarabia
- Moses Itauma vs. Mariusz Wach
Boxing News 24 will provide live updates and results of today’s action on the Joyce vs. Chisora fight below.
