Matias vs. Paro Event Information

Start Time: 7:30 p.m. ET/12:30 A.M. in the UK.

The knockout artist Matias (20-1, 20 KOs) is a difficult fighter to go the distance with due to his power, high work rate, and pressure on his opponents. He’s lost only one fight during his nine-year professional career, and he avenged that defeat with a knockout.

The Australian Paro (24-0, 15 KOs) brings his power to this fight with Matias, and he can’t be counted out. Paro is coming off a sixth-round knockout over former highly hyped Montana Love last December.

That was a fight that Paro opened the eyes of many boxing fans who had never heard of or seen him fight before.

If the Southpaw Paro can do that tonight against Matias, he will put himself in a position for bigger fights, even if it’s not against one of the world champions. Paro could scare away some of the more popular light welterweights with a victory over Matias, but at least he can get some top names in the 140-lb division.

Matias has already created a reputation for being the boogeyman of the light welterweight division, and he’s in a position where, no matter how good he looks, he may continue to be avoided if he looks like 24K gold tonight.
