Lopez defends his IBF featherweight world title against Angelo Leo on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, LIVE on ESPN

Once again, Venado Lopez is on a mission to crush dreams in their own backyards. This time, he’s packing his bags for Albuquerque, New Mexico, to potentially spoil another local hero’s day. On Saturday, August 10, at Tingley Coliseum—right in Angelo Leo’s stomping grounds—Lopez will attempt to defend his IBF featherweight title for the fourth time. Honestly, at this point, he might as well run a tour called “Venado’s Hometown Invasion.”

And because we can’t have a fight night without a little extra drama, the co-feature throws Lindolfo Delgado and Bryan Flores into the ring. Both unbeaten, both Mexican, and both ready to prove who’s the best in a junior welterweight showdown that promises more punches than a telenovela finale.

If you’re into watching this spectacle unfold live, ESPN’s got you covered. They’ll be broadcasting every jab, hook, and potential knockout, while Top Rank and Legacy Boxing Promotions laugh all the way to the bank. For those who fancy watching potential career-ending moments in person, tickets are available at Etix.com—because nothing says “Saturday night” like live emotional turmoil!

Lopez, the proud owner of the IBF belt, has made a habit of turning enemy territory into his own victory lane. From Leeds to Belfast, and now potentially Albuquerque, he’s turning local boos into his personal cheers. His opponent, Leo, who briefly tasted world title glory before it was snatched away by Stephen Fulton, is now just another stepping stone on Lopez’s global tour of dominance.

Delgado returns against Bryan Flores in the co-feature to Venado Lopez-Angelo Leo on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, LIVE on ESPN

Mexican Olympian Lindolfo Delgado is back in the ring and ready to maintain his perfect record in a tantalizing junior welterweight bout. Delgado will clash with fellow undefeated Mexican, Bryan Flores, in a ten-round brawl on Saturday, August 10, at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This fight will serve as the co-feature to the main event, where IBF featherweight world champion Venado Lopez defends his title against local favorite Angelo Leo.

The Delgado vs. Flores battle promises fireworks, with both fighters boasting impressive knockout ratios. Delgado (20-0, 15 KOs) has been on a tear since his career-defining upset over Omar Aguilar in August 2022. His journey continued with dominant victories, including a notable fourth-round stoppage of Luis Hernandez in November 2023 and a seventh-round knockout of Carlos Sanchez this past March.

On the other side, Flores (26-0-1, 15 KOs) has his own streak of triumphs, including a split decision win over Shinard Bunch last April and quick dispatches of Eleazar Valenzuela Carrillo and Jorge Abel Bermudez in recent bouts.
