German heavyweight and IBF No. 3 Agit Kabayel (25-0 or 27-2, take your pick) has pulled out of the IBF eliminator against IBF No. 4 Martin Bakole (21-1) in a surprising move.

The IBF had set November 5 as the deadline for purse bids, but later postponed it.

Bakole is now likely to face No. 5 Zhilei Zhang in a final eliminator

As for Kabayel, his next move is unknown. German boxen1.com speculates it could be in a Riyadh Season event where IBF champ Daniel Dubois defends the title against Joseph Parker and Bakole fights Zhang – but all is up in the air and nothing is confirmed.

Swiss heavyweight veteran Arnold “The Cobra” Gjergjaj (38-3) is sidelined with an injury and his fight for the EBU title, currently held by Germany-based Ukrainian Oleksandr “The Hunter” Zakhozyi (19-0) set for November 23 in Heidelberg is off. No word yet if a substitute can be found.

The Heidelberg event, promoted by Blanko Sports and SES, will go ahead with “Tiny” Tina Rupprecht (13-1-1) defending the WBC and WBO atomweight titles against Eri Matsuda (7-1-1) from Japan.
