Martin Bakole has revealed the three opponents he is targeting, following his stoppage of Jared Anderson.
The Congolese heavyweight, 31, secured the biggest victory of his career when in Los Angeles, on the undercard of Israil Madrimov-Terence Crawford, he stopped the promising Anderson in five rounds.
That he fought on a promotion overseen by the General Entertainment Authority makes it likely he could do so again – on the undercard of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Riyadh on December 21 – but if it was tempting to see Jarrell Miller as a likely opponent for him, given Miller drew with Andy Ruiz on the same date, he is instead targeting Joseph Parker, Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang.
All three are in the same bracket as Bakole – after Usyk, Fury and Anthony Joshua considered the finest in the world – and he told his promoters Boxxer: “For right now, [I want] people on my level – people I’m allowed to fight, because I’m number six now in the top 10.
“I would like to fight someone from seven, eight, nine, 10. I’ll mention Zhang – that’d be a good fight. I want to stop that man.
“I’ll mention Kabayel – that is a big fight. Good fight.
“I would say Joseph Parker – that’s a good fight. That’s three names.”
