British Olympian Pat Brown will kick off his professional career on March 28 when he faces Vladimir Reznicek at Planet Ice in Altrincham, England.

The fight will headline an NXTGEN card, promoted by Matchroom Boxing and shown live on DAZN.

The contest will be a homecoming of sorts for the 25-year-old Brown, who lost a 4-1 decision to Brazil’s Keno Machado in the opening round of the Paris Olympics last summer. He is from nearby Manchester, England and signed with Matchroom last November. Since then he has been training at V.I.P. Gym in Manchester suburb Astley under trainers Jamie Moore and Nigel Travis, preparing for his pro debut.

Reznicek, 15-2-2 (6 KOs) of Czech Republic is 11 years the senior of Brown at 36 and has a record of 1-5-1 outside of his native country. His lone victory outside the Czech Republic did come in England, however, when he defeated Ossie Jervier on points at Bethnal Green in 2016.

“Pat Brown has it all and I can’t wait to get this journey started on March 28, He’s a huge-punching cruiserweight and he’s got massive support in and around Manchester,” said Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn.

“He’ll be headlining a NXTGEN card on his professional debut and he’s already taken over 2,000 tickets himself. He’s going to be one of the biggest ticket sellers in the country and the kid can really fight.”

The rest of the card will include a grudge match between unbeaten British lightweights Cameron Vuong, 7-0 (3 KOs), and Jordan Flynn, 11-0-1 (1 KO), plus English super middleweight champion Reese Farnhill, 11-0 (4 KOs) defending his title against Mark Dickinson, 7-1 (2 KOs). Also slated for the card is the professional debut of local light heavyweight Conner Tudsbury, plus Rhiannon Dixon (10-1, 1 KO), William Crolla (6-0, 5 KOs) and Taylor Bevan, 2-0 (2 KOs).

“Cameron Vuong had a tough fight last time out against Gavin Gwynne. We want that rematch if he comes through Jordan Flynn. Mark Dickinson needs to get the win against Reece Farnhill coming off that loss in Prizefighter in Japan,” added Hearn.
