Jessica McCaskill faces Lauren Price today in Cardiff in a welterweight title fight.
Jessica McCaskill will defend her WBA welterweight title against Lauren Price, headlining a Boxxer card today in Cardiff, Wales.
The show will stream live on Peacock from 2:30 pm ET in the United States, and also airs on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
McCaskill (12-3-1, 5 KO) hasn’t actually won a fight in nearly two years, going 0-1-1 in her last two bouts, the loss at 140 lbs to Chantelle Cameron in late 2022, and then a draw last year with Sandy Ryan in a welterweight unification, which was a highly controversial result.
Price (6-0, 1 KO) has the home field advantage in Wales, and won gold for Team Great Britain at the Tokyo Olympics. She’s been dominant thus far as a pro, but McCaskill has been a style challenge for many superior pure boxers over the years, and this is Price’s big step up.
Also on the card: Rhys Edwards (15-0, 4 KO) takes on Thomas Patrick Ward (34-1-1, 5 KO) in a 10-round featherweight bout, and Mark Jeffers (17-0, 4 KO) faces Darren Johnston (8-0, 2 KO) in a 10-rounder at super middleweight. Plus Hughie Fury (27-3, 15 KO) returns to action, fighting for the second time in three weeks after being out of the ring since 2021. He’ll be facing Germany’s Patrick Korte (21-3-1, 18 KO) in an eight-round heavyweight fight.
