It has been reported that former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, who turns 58 in June, suffered a ‘medical emergency’ during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

Tyson’s representatives have confirmed that he became nauseous and dizzy on Sunday (May 26) while on the flight, which was already delayed by two hours due to the heat.

Paramedics boarded the plane upon landing in Los Angeles to treat Tyson.

“Thankfully Mr Tyson is doing great,” a representative told the New York Post. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing at LAX.

“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Tyson is due to fight Jake Paul on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in. Arlington, Texas. Due to marijuana being on the banned list in Texas, Tyson is believed to have stopped his daily use of the drug while training for the contest which is scheduled for eight two-minute rounds.

Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) took part in an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 but his previous professional bout occurred in June 2005 when he was stopped in six rounds by Kevin McBride.
