Nathan Heaney and Brad Pauls made weight ahead of their British middleweight title fight on Saturday night at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham.

Heaney and Paul seemed fired up as they faced off for the final time before fight night, but finished their tense encounter with a handshake. They will be running back their dramatic first contest, which ended in a draw.

Ashley Lane and Andrew Cain had another heated face-off having come to blows at Thursday’s press conference. Lane offered Cain the chance to fight there and then instead of waiting until Saturday night; Cain accepted by grabbing the throat of the champion.

“I wanted to left hook him,” said Cain. “But this fighting and opportunity means a lot to me, so I turned that left hook into a choke. He was lucky. I don’t know what he’s trying to do, if he’s trying to get in my head or something. I could have slapped him there and still been cool, calm, and collected.”

Chantelle Cameron weighed in under the junior-welterweight limit. She fights for the first time under her new coach Grant Smith and for the first time under Queensbury Promotions banner, against Elhem Mekhaled.

Shabaz Masoud weighed in just over the featherweight limit after his originally planned super-bantamweight clash with Liam Davies was postponed, and Marvin Solano became his opponent.
