Grammy-winning R&B artist Ne-Yo has stepped into the boxing world as a manager, signing WBA No. 12-ranked cruiserweight Paul Bamba. The 35-year-old fighter is promoted by Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna’s Rising Star Promotions.

Bamba is set to face Rogelio “Porky” Medina in a 10-round bout on December 21 at the Carteret Performing Arts Center in Carteret, New Jersey. This will mark Bamba’s 14th fight of 2024 after a busy year in which he has won 13 consecutive bouts by knockout. His only recent setback came in April 2023, when he suffered a loss to Chris Avila.

News of Bamba’s signing with Ne-Yo, first reported by TMZ Sports, was later confirmed by Bamba, 18-3 (17 KOs), on Instagram, where he also shared a story post-training with Malik Scott.

A retired Marine, Bamba has built a strong following on social media, where he boasts 125,000 Instagram followers. His ranking, record and growing online presence could position him as a potential opponent for high-profile fighters such as Jake Paul in the future.
