Middleweight Nelson Oliva is expected to make a return to the ring against Paulo Cesar Galdino at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, CA on Sept. 21.
Oliva, 28, of Los Angeles, can continue his unbeaten streak in an 8-round contest against Sao Paulo’s Galdino in a CBN Promotions headliner if he gets past his opponent. This would be Oliva’s (11-0, 8 KOs) second ring outing this year following a six-round unanimous decision win over Franyerson Puerta last March.
His opponent on Sept. 21, Galdino (13-8-2, 9 KOs), has won just once in his last six fights, including a first-round TKO defeat to Delante Johnson in February. In an 8-round co-main event, junior middleweight contender Alejandro Luis Silva (22-0-1, 17 KOs) of Paramount, CA, will slug it out with a yet-to-be-announced opponent.
According to Alex Camponovo, President of CBN Promotions, the event would offer an opportunity to rising stars Oliva and Silva to showcase their talents.
“We’re thrilled to bring another exciting night of boxing to Thunder Studios,” said Camponovo. “This event features some of the best-rising stars in the sport, and we’re committed to delivering top-notch matchups that will keep fans on the edge of their seats. Nelson Oliva and Alejandro Luis Silva are both undefeated and hungry to make a statement, and we can’t wait to see them in action.”
In an action-packed undercard, California’s junior featherweight contender Hector Lopez (5-0, 4 KOs), junior lightweight Eric Mondragon (10-1-1, 4 KOs) of Maywood, and debutant California’s Terry Washington are all scheduled to appear on the bill against yet-to-be-announced opponents.
Junior featherweight Gurjant Singh (2-0, 1 KO) of Artesia, California, will open the show in a four-rounder against a yet-to-be-known opponent. The event will be broadcast live across multiple networks, including Fubo Sports, Fox Deportes, Stadium, Gray TV, and will be tape-delayed on Estrella TV.
